The Shop

One person, one job at a time

Robinson Welding and Fabrication is run by Robert Robinson out of a shop four miles north of Freeport. He has been welding for 45 years. When you call, you are talking to the person who is going to do the welding, so nothing gets lost between the counter and the floor.

The shop runs evenings and weekends, which suits the people who need it. Farmers, contractors, trailer owners and anybody whose equipment broke on a Saturday have little use for a shop that closes at four on a Friday.

Aluminum, stainless and carbon steel all get welded here, on the same bench, by the same hands. That is one call instead of three.

Straight answers before you pick up the phone.

Do you do mobile welding, or come out to the job?

No. All work is done at the shop at 110 Burke Dr, four miles north of Freeport. Bring the piece in, or if you are not sure it will travel, send a photo and a rough size and we will talk it through.

What metals do you weld?

Aluminum, stainless steel and carbon steel, MIG and TIG, on the same bench by the same hands. Drilling and tapping too.

How long have you been welding?

45 years. When you call, you are talking to the person who is going to do the work.

Can I bring my own drawing or sketch?

Yes. Custom fabrication is built from your own drawing or sketch, a photo of something you want copied, or a description over the phone. A rough size and what the part has to do is enough to start a quote.

When are you open?

Evenings and weekends. Call or send the quote form and you will get a call back, usually the same evening.

How do I get a quote?

Do you build shelving and furniture?
